Harini Chandrasekar is an Industrial Designer with a specialization in textiles from India’s premier design school, The National Institute of Design. The prestigious Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Sweden as well as the Politechnico Di Milano in Italy added to her education and international perspective. She then went on to teach courses such as design concepts and concerns, print-making, sustainability and craft and strategic design thinking while working with several global clients across Sweden, Italy, Finland and India. She is currently enrolled in the Global Marketing Communication & Advertising program at Emerson College to add a new dimension to her skills. Harini hopes to integrate creativity with management to create new and engaging ideas in the field of marketing communication.

Below are images of art n craft projects created over this sunny weekend with my favorite 5-year-old!:) Some old magazines, a little glue and a whole lotta love = hours of color-filled play. After all, Life is about using the whole box of crayons.

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting a neighboring farm filled with happy animals galore. It made me want to re-look and rework an old series of animal posters I started several months ago. Below are some explorations of whats cooking!:)
An elephant was walking along a river, when he saw a turtle standing there. With all the force he could muster, he kicked it, and it shot into the mountains. A passing zebra remarked:"Why did you do that?" "I recognise that as the same turtle that bit me on my leg 44 years ago," said the Elephant. "Wow, what an amazing memory!" "Yes, turtle recall." :)
As a child, summer vacations in India meant a trip to my grandma's house near the southern-most tip of the country. My memories of my time there revolved around frolicking in the waterfalls nearby, visiting numerous ancient temples and reveling in their incredible architecture and getting to interact with a whole host of animals and birds ranging from deer, cows, peacocks and of course elephants!
Today's illustration depicts a temple elephant getting its routine shower. Many temples (especially in the south) own elephants as they are a vital part of several temple ceremonies and celebrations.
Did you know that much like human toddlers, great apes, magpies and dolphins, elephants have passed the mirror test-they recognize themselves in a mirror!
